Evaluating the Impacts of Climate Change on Urban Tree Performance and Survival
Teagan's projects delve into climate change's impact on urban tree species. Their research aims to comprehend and mitigate warming's effects on urban forests. Beginning in 2022, Teagan initiated protocols to assess critical concerns. They conducted a state-wide survey to identify resilient tree species across Florida's diverse hardiness zones. Additionally, they scrutinized irrigation technologies' impact on tree establishment and conducted greenhouse experiments to gauge heat tolerance in six Florida tree species. Moreover, Teagan is analyzing parking lot plantings and considering designs for urban heat island mitigation.
